Gather at the River Cole

The River Cole, one of Birmingham’s lesser known waterways is lush, full of wildlife & potential, yet it is also one of the most polluted rivers, with large stretches unattended, unloved & littered with discarded objects.
Gather at the River Cole is a creative programme that will bring people together in collective exploration, celebration and care for a shared natural resource.

The project aims to uplift the river & the communities around it through art. Developed with artists, communities, & partners, the programme will uncover stories of waterways in relation to cultural & religious celebrations, industry, joy, grief & climate change. Workshops, songs & cultural activities along the water will draw people to unknown areas, animate disused spaces & encourage residents to reflect on our use of waterways & what this reveals about attitudes to the environment, locally & beyond.

So far, I have partnered with The Springfield Project and The Wildlife Trust to deliver River Cole related activities.

Please get in touch if you are interested to partner on the programme as a participant, community partner or funder.
